What kinds of snails do you sell?

We sell Mystery Snails, Blueberry Snails, Japanese Trapdoor Snails, Rabbit Snails, Ramshorn Snails, Malaysian Trumpet Snails, and Bladder Snails. We will also sell Mini Flat Ramshorn Snails upon request.

Are Mystery Snails Legal in My State?

Mystery Snails ARE illegal in Georgia! Please do not order Mystery Snails if you are going to ship them to Georgia. If you do order Mystery Snails to be shipped to Georgia, we will have to cancel and refund those snails. If we ship Mystery Snails to Georgia, we could face a $500 fine.
Georgia is currently the only state in the continental US that has banned the import of Mystery Snails. If you are shipping them to anywhere else in the continental US, they are legal. However, you should check to see if your state has any regulations you must adhere to.

Do you sell anything other than snails?

We do! We also sell neocaridina shrimp, freshwater aquarium plants, fish, snail and shrimp food, mineral supplements, plant fertilizer, and swag. In addition to our physical products, we sell digital copies of our care/acclimation documents, instructions, and personal consultations.

When will you have my desired snail color back in stock?

Short answer: It could be weeks or months. We breed our snails ourselves (we don’t buy them from bulk breeders / wholesalers) and we hatch our clutches responsibly, which means we only hatch as many baby snails as our tanks can handle at a time. Our inventory also depends on the individual growth rate of each snaby. The growth rate of snabies from the same clutch can vary significantly.

What are the best parameters for the snail(s), shrimp, and / or plants I just purchased?

See the item’s description for its ideal habitat. We also include a basic care and / or acclimation sheet in the box with your order.

How do I keep my snail’s shell as gorgeous as when it arrived?

Short answer: Buy our Magic Minerals. By supplementing the water with our Magic Minerals, we are supporting our snails’ shells and general health / wellbeing, thus making their shells gorgeous and their personalities adventurous! (This will also depend upon the parameters / conditions in your tank)

I bought a snail somewhere else. How can I help its shell and health?

Short answer: Buy our Magic Minerals. By supplementing the water with our Magic Minerals, you are supporting your snail’s shell and health. While Magic Minerals may not do much to beautify the old damage, new growth will come out gorgeous and your snail should become more active. (This will also depend upon the parameters / conditions in your tank)

When will my order ship?

We ship all orders on Mondays and Tuesdays. Occasionally, when we get a lot of orders, we will ship on Wednesdays as well. Orders completed by 6:00pm MST Sunday will be shipped that Monday. Orders placed after that will be shipped the following week.

When will my order arrive?

That depends on what you ordered. Items shipped using USPS Priority should arrive by Friday or Saturday, according to the USPS. Items shipped using UPS or FedEx 2 Day should arrive by Wednesday or Thursday. Dry goods, if ordered without lifeforms, ship using USPS Ground and should arrive by the following Monday or Tuesday.

Why is shipping so expensive?

In order to be able to guarantee live arrival, we don’t ship live animals or plants using any form of Ground shipping. The amount we charge for shipping also includes insulated packaging and either a heat pack or a cold pack, depending upon the season in which you order. The amount we charge for shipping dry goods is based entirely on how much we pay for it. Oftentimes, we actually wind up paying more to ship your order than we charged you.

How will my Lifeforms be protected from the heat / cold?

During harsh temperature conditions we use insulated packaging with either a heat pack or a cold pack to keep the internal temperature inside the box as comfortable as possible for your snails, shrimp, and / or plants.

What is your DOA Policy?

We guarantee that our snails/shrimp/plants will arrive alive. We can’t guarantee that they will survive and/or thrive in your tank once introduced into their new environment. Some melt is to be expected after introducing your new plant into your tank.

In order to receive a DOA refund, we have to receive a picture within 2 hours of delivery showing:

  • For Snails: the dead snail hanging limply out of its shell or a completely empty shell. 

  • For Shrimp: the dead shrimp placed on a white sheet of paper or paper towel.

  • For Plants: the dead plant on original packaging.

Please message us on our website as soon as possible after opening your package if you suspect something may be amiss. The DOA refund covers the cost of the snails only.
